Annie has always promoted the involvement and engagement of individuals with direct experience in any development of services.
Annie Whelan has been involved for many years with Seaview, a mental health and homeless charity on the south coast providing an open access wellbeing centre and rough sleeper outreach. She initially served as a trustee and then CEO and currently acts as Independent Adviser.
She has also been one of the independent members of the National Information Board since its inception in 2014.
Annie spent 20 years living in the USA, where she worked with a street homeless service in Detroit. She was the Director for a crisis women’s service, and supported the development and opening of service-user run enterprises in two counties in central Ohio.
Upon returning to England in 2003, Annie managed mental health advocacy services in a variety of settings; community, inpatient, forensic and prison. As Development Lead for the Association of Mental Health Providers for several years, Annie led on their work with the Department of Health Strategic Partners Programme.
Annie has qualifications in training and assessing and is an approved Mental Health First Aid instructor, she has been involved in developing accredited training programmes in advocacy and brokerage. She has also
developed a number of person centred assessment tools for different organisations including the Mental Health Matters Personal Progress Plan, mcch Lifeworx and the Signpost UK Lifeplan.
Zelly has had a lot of experience in involving and engaging people in all kinds of situations and projects, and most recently has led on undertaking the participative research for the SelfMotiv8 Money planning tool.
She has worked in many different situations customer services, fine art marketing, as a support worker , teacher and advocate. She also gained importantant experience working as a radio show presenter.
Zelly has lived and worked in Germany, and the USA, but now is based for work and home in England.
She has also been involved in developing and delivering training packages and products and was involved in working with Annie on developing the accredited Signpost Brokerage Training Package, and the Signpost Lifeplan.
She was commissioned to develop the English version of the Bridges course in 2009 recently was commissioned to develop a Peer to Peer training course for mcch.
Kate Flores has a BA (hons) Illustration and has worked in the creative industries for over 10 years. Her experience mainly lays in working in a small team to deliver powerful results. She has previously worked with a number of charities and as a being The Web & Design Guru for Selfish Mother for many years - a small brand which has raised over £1 million for the charities it supports.
She's worked with a wide range of clients from The 1066 CAB, John Lewis, The Mental Health Providers Forum, The London Accordion Orchestra and The Foundry Gym. She has a passion for working with people and gained a PTLSS qualification so that she could utilise her skills to deliver some of the training she'd been previously been designing.
She successfully delivered Money Planning Toolkit training in Welbeing Centres, Community Centres and businesses, catering each session to the needs of individuals on it.
